Officejet v40 not working after installing Windows 10

HP Recommended
officejet v40 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After installing Windows 10 for my all in one officejet v40 printer either I get a print error and non printing event or after deleting the old print driver and reinstalling a new version of the print driver now it prints 1/2" and then the printer quits. I have tried reinstalling windows 10 all over again and that has now helped. I need some other advice. the HP print doctor stated something about the wrong printer port but I have not changed any physical settings.

Hey @Larry603,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with printing from your Windows 10 PC to your Officejet v40 Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, try making a copy from the front of the printer. Once I know if you can copy I should be better able to assist you.

I have managed to copy in colour and that function seems to be working perfectly well.

Hi - my officejet v40 has worked fine with Windows 10 until I had to re-install windows 10. Now I can't get it to work. Used scan doctor and it is recognised in Windows but just won't print. I have the compatable windows 10 driver and the printer is recognised in Windows on my pc..

Any solutions please..!!

Many thanks,
