The printer won't print jobs or a test page. The "check print cartridge light" is blinking.
I use this printer both with a Mac (OS-X) and PC (Windows 7), hookup by USB cable. It fails to print form both computers. When hooked up to the Mac and trying to print, I get a message in the print job window saying that the black ink cartridge is incompabible.
I had been using Office Depot cartridges (57 for color, 56 for black--the ones listed as the correct cartridges for this model) with no problem prior to this. But, to be sure, I went out and bought the HP 56 black cartridge. That didn't help. Same message.
I've tried several times as well to make sure that the cover on the cartridge compartment is closed securely.
I've turned off the printer and powered up numerous times, but it fails to clear the error display.
The contacts looks clean and fine.
I downloaded the HP Printer Diagnostic Utility. It dectected no problem.
