HP Recommended
Product: Inkhet 7640
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

Unable to install - from carton disk or download from HP site - driver for 7640 Inkjet.  Is there a secret?  Will accept fax driver but not the printer driver.  Files are installed on HDrive byt refuses to be installed.  Using USB cable, not wireless.  7640 claims works on XP system.  Is there a driver to accomplish this?  Where located?  Ready to return pinter.  HELP.

Answer:

Printer does not support XP 64bit.

 

Information:

The printer Specifications provide the supported Operating Systems:

 

Both "recommended" and "minimum" requirements include this:

Windows XP SP3 or higher (32-bit only)

 

 

 

Datasheet : Windows XP SP3 or higher (32-bit only)
