When trying to locate the Scan to Computer fault I came across this post.

 

'If you have the full software installed and the PC is windows, then you should have an icon on your desktop that looks like the Photosmart 5520'

 

On my destktop I had Scan Doctor, HP Smart, HP Scan and Capture, Devices and Printers I had completed all the updates and added the full software but I did not have the icon of a my printer!

 

For some reason I did not have the shortcut Icon for the HP 5520 printer:

 

Once I located the file on the start button menu under HP -  'HP Photosmart 5520 series' I put that as a shortcut on my desktop and using this app it allowed me to turn off the scan to computer switch.

 

I thought I would post this in case other peiople come across the same issue.
