Scan is terrible quality on my new hp office jet pro 8600 all in one

HP Recommended

Hi, i have the same problem. i plugged it directly into a regular outfit, and the pdf scan is terrible.  if i do a jpeg scan its better, but a pain to convert to pdf.

i am starting the scan directly from my printer.

Do you know what I can do to fix this?

thanks.
