Is it possible to limit the size of a file before scanning?

Hi! Is there a way to limit the size of a file before scanning?

 

I'm sacanning one hundred pages but neeed each file to have a maximum of 3mb.  Is it possible to create several files according to this limit?

Unfortunately no, no such option on scanner. One way to reduce scan image size is to reduce DPI but this will lower quality of scanned files.

 

With 100 pages to scan, I don't know the complexity or each page but it would be big. Option: You can scan to one big files and split file to many smaller files.

 

For example: scanned file is 100 pages and its size is 30 MB, roughly 10 pages each 3 MB. Now you can split 100 pages to 10 smaller files with 10 pages each. The process would be split from 1 to 10; 11 to 20, 21 to 30 ....; 91 to 100.

 

The following free software will do that for you. You can also use this software to merge many small files to a big file.
