Samsung C460

We have a Samsung C460FW.  We have never had it set up to scan directly to the computer so we usually scan to a USB and then put the USB into the laptop to download the document.  It has been working successfully for about 3 years.

Yesterday I scanned and it looked fine but at the end it said "canceling".  When I put the usb into my laptop it said it had to be formatted - which has never happened before.  I actually thought it was my computer issue but I found a usb that worked fine and tried it again.  It just saved gibberish to the flash drive.  I managed to delete the gibberish and I am able to reuse the drive so I have to assume it has something to do with the scan to USB on the printer.

Any thoughts?  Wrong setting or anything?

Many thanks
