I'm wondering if there is any way to pass an environment variable to the bcu? I have an asset number that is a osd variable, and I want to write that to the bios during imaging.
I'm thinking something like this:
BIOSConfigUtility64.exe /cpwdfile:”pw.bin” /setvalue:”Asset Tracking Number”,”%OSDAssetTag%"
I don't seem to have the right syntax, or it isn't possible to pass the variable this way. Has anyone done anything similar?
You have the correct syntax.
I did not try to pass an environment variable with BCU, but I tried to set my computer name for the Asset Tracking and it works.
BIOSConfigUtility64.exe /setvalue:"Asset Tracking Number","%computername%"
Note: I don't have password set.
