HP Client Security 8.3.17.2042 - behavioral issues

HP Recommended
ZBook 17 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This new version of HP Client Security fixes quite a few of the problems I had with an earlier version.

See older post.

Unfortunately, it also introduces several new ones:

* Some sites do not work with Client Security

It just doesn't detect the credential fields.

   Ok, so be it.

As a workaround, I previously opened Password Manager, looked for the correct site and copy/pasted the password.

Someone now decided that this should not be possible anymore.

You only get a peek preview of the password and once you release the button the password is hidden.

   No copy paste anymore.

I have different complex generated passwords for every single site...

Try to peek some moments to  "Ko@v+ei3a!$6ohx(" and then type it in the site's password field... Useless.

I think this "additional security" isn't worth the loss of the copy/paste feature, is it?

It rather forces me to go back to easy to remember passwords...

* When Client Security correctly discovers credential fields on a known site, it offers to enter them for you.

   Provide your fingerprint and done...

Unfortunately, this new version often doesn't keep focus.

So once I provide my fingerprint, it just opens a popup dialog with a list of all my credentials (for any site) instead of entering the credentials on the current site.

When I click once again in the username or password field and again provide the fingerprint, it usually works.

   Very annoying.

* For some reason, opening all dialogs also takes much more time than before.

This could be due to stronger encryption algorithms, but it is surprising that it takes up to 3 seconds on my recent Core i7 to just retrieve a password...

So, some nice improvements / bugfixes have been done, but the introduced issues spoil quite a significant part of the fun.

Best regards,

Johan
