Stream 8 asking for BitLocker key but no soft keyboard

HP Recommended

This problem has occurred more than once with my Stream 8. I take it that Windows is not really usable on a tablet that doesn't have a physical keyboard.

Furthermore the recovery disk (if ordered from HP) is just that a disk. Doesn't HP realize that this device doesn't have an optical drive.

It also comes with a BIOS that won't recover from a SD card.

How asleep were the HP engineers who built this machine? Mine is now a brick.

Stream 8 is using USB disk for recovery and using soft KB as Windows 8 feature not device feature.

The Stream does support a USB keyboard but just not on the Bit Locker screen. Not supporting a soft keyboard is a device issue. HP replaced my Stream with a refurbished model that is working fine. It will stay at Win 8 until 10 is officially announced.

BTW, HP no longer offers the recovery disk, it has been removed from their web site. Based on readings of other threads, it frequently didn't work.
