HP Spectre Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a HP Spectre Notebook, model #W2K26UA#ABA, 10/09/2016.  Over the last couple of months the seam between the keyboard and base is separating on both sides and starting to in front.  I have read about the complaints concerning this due to battery swelling and believe this to be the case.  This morning I took the computer to Best Buy where I purchased it and was told that after the rep checked, there was no recall on my model and they could not send it back to HP.  I'm not sure at this point as to how to proceed.  The serial number is [Personal Information Removed].

As a side note, when I inquired if they could repair it, he stated that they would have to replace the battery among other numerous things and the cost would be quite high.  When he said replace the battery I wondered why he would say that if he didn't think that was the cause.

Thanks for any help.
