Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Equipment:

  • Elitebook x360 1040 G7
  • Thunderbolt 2 Dock
  • 2x4k Monitors, one hooked up with Display Port and the other with USB C Thunderbolt port (both are connected at the back of the dock)

I have found a problem with the laptops fan going at high speed while hooked to the dock via Thunderbolt cable.  If I remove the thunderbolt cable, the fans go back down.  I can also observe a few of the sensor temps go up to 60-70c when hooked to the dock.  They go back down to 50 or under when the dock is unplugged.

Can we escalate this to HP engineers to see if they can reproduce the same issue with the same hardware and get us a driver for firmware fix?  Hooking up a dock should not make the temperatures go up that high and no one wants constant high speed fan noise.
