I found another thread with this same topic but it will not allow replies despite several (over a dozen) "MeToo! clicks this year.

What happens is one day for no apparent reason WiFi will not connect to any WiFi hot spot when it worked fine and 100% the previous day.

Despite the HP response which give a gazillion possibilities, including remove and replace drivers and even factory reset your computer and cross your fingers, the resolution to the issue is to enable DHCP for wifi.

The network status will indiucate that the hot spot is set for automatic DHCP when cjlicking on the properties button in the wifi list the IP settong shows IP assignment Automatic (DHCP) but the wifi card setting is not enabled.

To enable DHCP for wifi

select start

select network & internet

select wifi

select  manage known networks

select the known network you are trying to connect to

under IP assignment  select edit

select automatic

select save

Sometimes you can use the network troubleshooter and it will find this issue and fix it but my experience is the network troubleshooter is useless 75 out of 100 times.

Best to ya
