6452 on Ubuntu 18.04 says python and pyhon-dev are incompatible. My system has 2.7

I had this working wirelessly on my centurylink system but now it's not working wirelessly with my netgear R6100. It does work through USB but I haven't gotten the scanning functions to work.

While running the install.py (hplip-3.21.6) on my Ubuntu 18.04.5 system, I get a failure saying that my printer is not found.

I set up for hp-check -t  and this is what it says.

Both are there, but it appears that it doesn't like the fact that my Python is 2.7. It appears to be looking for 2.2?
