Hello people,

I just got a present: a big Din A3 scanner. It's as old as the hills, but apparantly it should still work fine. It has to be sent to me, so I can't try it out myself yet.

Now I remember when my own small HP scanner first met my Vista O.S., in 2008, it wouldn't work and HP had to send me new software to download, before the Vista system wanted to accept it. 

I have no idea from when this scanner is; it's name is HP Scanjet 4P, and I can't find any drivers or manuals for it anymore in the HP site, so it's bound to be more than 10 years old. 

I don't know whether the former owners have had the adaptation done or not; the person who's giving it to me doesn't know anything about computers. I can't ask her, she has no idea what I'm talking about.

But as long as I am not certain there's a small chance it might work, I'm not going to ask her to go through the trouble of sending it to me. 

I own 3 computers: my newest one is Win10, my former one was Vista, and my oldest one has XP. None of the old ones are online anymore, but they still work fine.

Can anybody among you experts tell me if that scanner could possibly work on any of my 3 computers, and in the affirmative case, which software I should use to make it work? (since I can't download any on the HP site no longer....)
