Product: HP Laserjet 6P
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Laserjet 6P stopped printing from Windows 10 applications although it will print a test page from the HP driver software.  W10 is fully updated.  I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it could not communicate with the printer.  I tried the options suggested in the Print and Scan Doctor to rectifiy the situation without a positive result.  Yet the printer driver will print a test page.  The printer is over 20 years old.  Is it possible that the printer software generates a test page using a signal very different than application software?  If so, I suppose there could be a chip failure that produces the problem.
