I still have my HP 6700 printer and can not afford to buy another right now (I am a full time caregiver for my elderly mother)!  Ever since it was new, it tells me my color ink cartridges are empty (when i don't even used color and hardly ever print at all)!

I have gone through numerous EXPENSIVE COLOR CARTRIDGES over time and WASTED SO MUCH TIME trying to rectify this issue (when I don't have this valuable time to waste doing this!)...  I have tried all the options I can think of outside of purchasing a new printer... but, I still have cartridges for this model printer that I hope I can still use!  Has anyone faced this issue and/or found a workaround?... (to disconnect/override a feature to make this printer work a little longer?).  Of course, I waited too long to find out this issue AFTER my warranty had expired for this printer and HP HAS DISABLED any HELP for OLDER MODEL PRINTERS... so, you're on your own for any problems you have and for the money you have spent.

Also, in lieu of this question... Which Printer/make have you purchased that you are HAPPY WITH?
