Hi all.

I have had to replace a motherboard in an Elitedesk mini 800 G5 DM.  I have a used a new motherboard part number L54549-001 but I'm getting the dreaded 3-4 fault code when I insert the power supply plug.  The unit doesn't start or boot but the green light on the board illuminates.  It does the same even when I power it up with the motherboard out of the case.

I have tried a number of different processors, all supposedly compliant with the G5.  I have reset the bios several times but to no avail

There seems to be a lot of correspondence about this and some have come to the conclusion that its a power supply issue. Can anyone help me with part number of the correct power supply to use with this unit?

Vince

Hi, Vince:

The 3.4 code is an indication of a power issue.

Enter your PC's product number in the search window at the link below and it will provide the part number and description of the power supply that your PC uses.

HP PartSurfer

You should also review the list for the motherboard part number and supported processor that came with your PC.

Thank you very much and I have ordered the correct "smart" power supply.

I have a 9700K which is a supported by this board and power supply.

Thanks very much
