HP Pavilion Aero 13.3 inch Laptop PC 13-be0000 (3B3W4AV)

Hello,

My HP support assistant indicates that the battery should be calibrated.  I followed the instructions from the HP website 3 times, and the assistant still shows that the battery needs calibration.  I have run the battery test, and the battery is fine.

Hi @JamesNel1

If your HP Support Assistant continues to indicate that the battery needs calibration despite performing the calibration process multiple times, here are some steps and tips you can try:

Steps to Address Calibration Notification:

  1. Recheck Calibration Steps:

    • Ensure that you have followed the calibration steps correctly. This process usually involves fully discharging the battery and then charging it without interruptions to recalibrate the battery sensor.
  2. Use HP Hardware Diagnostics:

    • Access HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and run the battery diagnostics test. Restart your laptop, press ESC repeatedly during boot, and then press F2 to access the diagnostics tool.
  3. Update HP Support Assistant:

    • Ensure that the HP Support Assistant software is up-to-date. Sometimes, older versions may have bugs that cause inaccurate notifications. You can download the latest version from the HP Support Assistant website.
  4. Check for BIOS Updates:

    • An outdated BIOS can sometimes lead to battery reporting issues. Check for any available BIOS updates on the HP Support website.
  5. Reset the Battery Management System:

    • Disconnect the charger, turn off the laptop, then press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds. This can sometimes clear battery reporting issues.
  6. Consider Power Plan Settings:

    • Check and modify power plan settings in Windows to see if that alleviates any discrepancies. Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep, and ensure settings are optimal.
