HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop Next Gen AI PC 14-fh0000 (9F2C2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

There is one major annoyance with my brand new Ultra Flip 14, which is otherwise a wonderful machine. Bluetooth keeps disconnecting, and I have to reboot to have bluetooth up and going. All drivers are up to date, Win 11 is up to date...

Hi @Bernaard,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 may be experiencing a Bluetooth driver or power management issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Disable Bluetooth Power Management:

  • Go to Device Manager and expand Bluetooth.
  • Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter (often labeled as Intel or Realtek Bluetooth device) and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Click OK to save.

Reset Bluetooth Services:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Bluetooth Support Service, right-click, and select Restart. Make sure the service is set to Automatic.

Update or Reinstall Bluetooth Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth, right-click on the Bluetooth adapter, and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  • Alternatively, visit HP's support site to download the latest Bluetooth driver for your model and install it manually.

Disable Fast Startup:

  • Open Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable and scroll down to Turn on fast startup (recommended).
  • Uncheck this box and click Save changes.

Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow any recommended steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Exact. Same. Problem.

Brand new machine. Bluetooth **bleep**s out constantly. Most of the time turning bluetooth on/off within Windows will fix it, but sometimes even that hangs up, requiring a reboot.

Hi, and thanks for your answer. I will try each suggested solution, and report back 🙂 I have already attempted to update the driver, but the issue persists. So now, I have disabled the power management of the bluetooth chip as you suggested. Let's see how that goes!

After 24 hours, I can confirm that the solution under "Disable Bluetooth Power Management" in the post by Alden4 seems to work . I do not know how that affects power usage, but it does not seem to have dramatic consequences. I need to mention that I have a fresh install of Windows 11, and that my Bluetooth driver version is Intel Wireless Bluetooth version 23.90.0.8, downloaded from Intel. Note that simply updating the driver did not solve the issue. Follow the steps suggested by Alden4 under "Disable Bluetooth Power Management".

Thanks. This is what worked for me: Disable Bluetooth Power Management: Go to Device Manager and expand Bluetooth. Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter (often labeled as Intel or Realtek Bluetooth device) and select Properties. Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Click OK to save.
