Hello this morning I have a notice on my monitor stating Boot Device Not Found- Install An Operating System on your Hard Disk. Tried looking at some videos but can’t figure it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m lost on this.

Model# MO1-F1114

Product# 1J7N5AA#ABA

Serial# Edited

not sure if it is 32 or 64 bit.

The "Boot Device Not Found – Install an Operating System on your Hard Disk" message usually indicates that the system is unable to detect a bootable operating system on the drive, but before we look at Windows recovery options, I'd like to first verify that the hardware is being detected and functioning properly.
 

Please start by running the HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  1. Turn the PC off completely.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately tap F2 repeatedly to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  3. Select Component Tests.
  4. Run the Storage Test (Quick Test first, then Extensive Test if available).
  5. Also run the Memory Test.
  6. If any test fails, please make note of the Failure ID and share it with us.
     

A few questions as well:

  • Did this issue start suddenly, or was there a power outage, Windows update, or other event before it appeared?
  • Do you hear any unusual clicking or grinding noises from the PC?
  • Are you able to access the BIOS by tapping F10 during startup?

If the Storage Test passes, we can then check whether the boot files or Windows installation need to be repaired. If the Storage Test reports a failure, that will point us toward a drive-related issue.
 

Please let me know the results of the diagnostics, and we'll take it from there.
