My HP 17" Touch Laptop Ryzen 5 16GB 1TB SSD frame just broke this morning on the top right side of my camera. Can this be fixed? I have only had this laptop just over a year. I don't carry it around at all. It just stay in my office on my desk. This is a little upsetting that it is just barely over a year old. I have another HP laptop that I have had for 4 years and carry it around and it is still in great shape.

Depending on the model, some hinge problem will be fixed by HP even if out of warranty.

It might be useful to lubricate the hinge as I suspect that caused the problem.
This discussion is about using a toothpick to lubricate a MacBook hinge.
Or just do a general search

Let me know what you find out.

Thanks for the reply.

It is not a broken hinge.

It is the frame that goes around my screen that is cracked and the top just right of my camera.

If in warranty and you can prove the crack was caused by (for example) a problem with the hinge then it can be repaired under warranty.

Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com

Look for the part you need such as fan, cable, battery, etc.
If looking to replace a cable (for example) the HP part# is usually on a tag and the manufacturers part is sometimes printed on the cable. If no picture is shown then search for images of the listed HP part# and compare it to your broken part.

Once you find the part number you can search the internet for a vendor. Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, all have their own search engines.

Display Screen: Screens can have OEM parts such as LG, Samsung, etc. An HP part number may include the OEM screen plus mounting hardware which makes it easier to replace but sometimes harder to find if the system is older than a few years.

When you search for the part number be sure to include AliExpress as most screens are made in Asia. To find disassembly video search youtube.

This 3rd party site might be helpful.  I just found out about it.
