Built-in camera shakes and when opening camera it displays lines

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

 

  • Does the issue occur only when using certain apps (like Zoom or Teams), or even with the default Camera app?
  • Do the lines appear constantly, or only when the camera is moved or adjusted?
  • Have there been any recent updates or changes to your system before this started?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Update drivers: Open Device Manager, locate your camera under Imaging Devices, right‑click, and select Update driver.
  • Check HP Support Assistant: Run HP Support Assistant to see if there are any pending updates for your camera or BIOS.
  • Reset the Camera app: Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Advanced options, then select Reset.
  • Test in Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode and check if the issue persists this helps rule out software conflicts.
  • External check: If possible, test with an external USB webcam to confirm whether the issue is hardware‑specific
