NonSequitur777,

Hello.  Thanks for the info.  I was wondering about the 2700x, and did some checking into it before.  HP support article for that Sunflower Motherboard provides specs, and processor upgrade information as follows: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05939208  The AMD Ryzen7-2700 (Pinnacle Ridge) 8 cores/16 threads is listed, but not the Ryzen 7 2700x.

A similiar topic was posted on the AMD community board questioning if the 8433 Sunflower motherboard would be compatible with other variations of the AMD Ryzen 7 2700 such as  the 2700x or the 2700e, or if they'd have to stick with the Ryzen 7 2700. https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-processors/cpu-upgrade/td-p/561979 Their response at the AMD community board was as follows:

"I don't know that is something you will need to ask HP Support.

But that HP Support specs on your motherboard shows which processor you can upgrade to.

It doesn't show any other variant of the 2700 processor.

NOTE: Looking at the Ryzen 7 2700X specs it is a 105 watt TDP which will disqualify it but the Ryzen 7 2700e has a TDP of 45 watts so it is below the maximum processor TDP for your Motherboard.

But I don't know if the MoBo's BIOS would recognize the 2700e or not."

It'd be nice to have the speed.  Maybe there's information out there that says otherwise,  but it sounds like it wouldn't be compatible.    Not looking for an upgrade for gaming purposes, but for an upgrade to be compatible with Windows 11.

Thanks for your input and help.

Have a great day,

Jeff
