Hi, I believe I was sold a laptop manufactured in 2022, in 2025 from an exclusive HP outlet. Store is nonresponsive. I want to raise a complaint and need an email address.

Warranty is expired
OS Build is 22621.4317 and version 22H2, which I believe is outdated.
Windows was installed on May 18, 2023.

Please assist my next steps to complaint.

Hi @AaravHarish

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s genuinely disappointing to feel uncertain about the age of a laptop you purchased from an exclusive outlet—especially when you expected something fresh and current.

Let’s walk through how you can verify the manufacturing date and understand what it means for your device.

Step-by-step to check your HP laptop’s manufacturing date

1. Find the serial number and product number

  • Press Esc during startup and select System Information.
  • Or, press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
  • Note the Serial Number and Product Number listed there.

2. Use HP’s warranty check tool

  • Visit the HP Warranty Check page.
  • Enter your Serial Number and Country.
  • The page will show:
    • Warranty start and end dates
    • Estimated ship date (often close to manufacturing date)

3. Check BIOS build date

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Look for BIOS Version/Date or System Build Date.
  • This gives a strong clue about when the system was assembled.

Let me know your serial number if you’d like help interpreting the results. You’re absolutely right to ask questions and seek clarity—let’s make sure you have full confidence in your device.

Note: Do not share any of your personal information in public, such as serial number, phone number, email ID, etc.
