HP Envy x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-fc0000 (8Z8M1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Computer does not turn on, power up or start up. Pressing power button for 30 secs does not help. Also small light near powercable is off.

Hi @dieterl

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That sounds frustrating, but let's go through some steps to troubleshoot your HP Envy x360 14-fc0000 that isn't powering on.

Step 1: Check Power Connections

  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the wall outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet or a different charger (if available).
  • If the charging light near the power cable is off, the adapter may not be delivering power.

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
  2. Hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge residual power.
  3. Plug the adapter back in and try turning on the laptop.

Step 3: Check for Static Charge Issues

  • Unplug the charger and leave the laptop unplugged overnight.
  • Plug the charger back in the next day and try turning it on.

Step 4: Test with an External Display

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor via HDMI.
  • If the external display works, the issue may be with the internal screen or GPU.

Step 5: Recover the BIOS

  1. Plug in the power adapter.
  2. Hold Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2-5 seconds.
  3. Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you hear beeping sounds.
  4. If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the instructions.

Let me know what results you get, and I can refine the approach further! Hopefully, we can get your laptop running again.
