Hi @jeanrock21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Pavilion Gaming desktop shutting down unexpectedly!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Overheating: Ensure that the computer is not overheating. Check that the fans are functioning properly and that there is adequate ventilation around the computer.

Hardware Issues: Inspect for any loose connections, damaged components, or failing hardware such as the power supply. It might be necessary to open the case and ensure everything is securely connected.

Software Conflicts: Sometimes, software issues can cause shutdowns. Try running diagnostics in Safe Mode to see if there’s any difference, which can point to software conflicts when running in normal mode.

Malware Infection: Perform a thorough malware scan using your antivirus software to ensure that no malicious software is causing the shutdowns.

Power Settings: Review power management settings in Windows to ensure the computer is not set to shut down automatically due to inactivity or other power-related triggers.

System Updates: Ensure that all drivers and the operating system are up to date, as outdated software can lead to instability.

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes incorrect BIOS settings can cause shutdowns. Boot into BIOS and reset to default settings, then test for improvement.

I hope this helps.
