Hi @Bearsnicker
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Since your HP All-in-One hasn't been used since 2019 and you’re missing the adapter, getting it powered up is the first priority. Here’s what you can do:
1. Get a Compatible Power Adapter
- The HP All-in-One - 20-c023w typically uses a 65W or 90W power adapter with a 7.4mm barrel connector.
- You can find a compatible replacement from HP’s official store or reputable sellers online.
- If buying third-party, ensure the voltage and wattage match exactly.
2. Reset Forgotten Password (Once powered up)
Since you can’t remember the password, you’ll need to reset the system:
Option 1: Reset via Password Recovery
- If the PC is linked to your Microsoft account, go to Microsoft’s Password Reset.
- Follow steps to reset via email or phone verification.
Option 2: Hard Reset (Fresh Start)
- Power on → On the login screen, click Power → Hold Shift and click Restart.
- Select Troubleshoot → Reset this PC → Remove Everything.
- This will wipe the computer and start fresh.
3. Mouse Replacement
- Any standard USB or wireless mouse should work. If you prefer HP-branded, check their store for compatible models.
