@Joec6940, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Computer Startup Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP computer won't start up, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to identify and potentially resolve the issue:

Check Power Supply:

  • Ensure that the power cord and all cables are securely connected to the computer.
  • Verify that the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet. You can check the outlet by plugging another device into it to see if it works.
  • Inspect the rear fan area. If you see a green LED light, then AC power is available.

Cooling and Ventilation:

  • Ensure the computer is not too hot and that vents are not blocked. Overheating can cause startup failures.

Cable Connections:

  • Make sure the monitor cable is securely connected to the computer and that the monitor is turned on.
  • If using a TV or external display, ensure the proper input source is selected.

Reset HP Digital Entertainment Center (if applicable):

  • Press and hold the On button for more than four seconds until the computer turns off. Wait a few seconds and then turn it back on.

Consult Warranty and Support Guide:

  • You may need to use Application Recovery or System Recovery to reinstall or restore software if a system failure occurs.

Voltage Spikes and Power Issues:

  • Consider using a surge suppressor between the power outlet and the computer to prevent problems caused by voltage spikes, which can lead to startup issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
