DisplayPort does not appear to be functioning on an HP OmniDesk I just purchased. I am using two identical Dell monitors that are compatible with DisplayPort. Monitor 1 connects to the computer fine using HDMI.  I want to get Monitor 2 going via DisplayPort. Cable is Insignia™ NS-PCKCD626. Monitor 2 is set to USB-C input. With the cable connected, it cannot connect to the computer. I tried unplugging Monitor 1 and rebooting with Monitor 2 still plugged in. I decided to try the USB-C to DisplayPort on Monitor 1 in case something is wrong with the USB-C port on Monitor 2. The result was the same. I am concerned that DisplayPort is defective on the new PC. What else can I try? Where should DisplayPort appear in Device Manager? Thank you for your help.

Hi @scott416,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I Understand your concern it seems like you are experiencing issues with connecting your second monitor via DisplayPort on your HP OmniDesk. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Update Graphics Drivers

  • Go to Device Manager → Display adapters.
  • Right‑click your GPU (Intel/AMD/NVIDIA) → Update driver.
  • Or download the latest drivers directly from HP’s support site or the GPU manufacturer.
  • Outdated drivers often prevent secondary monitors from being detected.

Check Display Settings

  • Right‑click desktop → Display settings.
  • Scroll to Multiple displays → Detect.
  • If Windows doesn’t see the monitor, the port/cable isn’t active.
  • Try manually extending the display once detected.

BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Restart your PC → Enter BIOS/UEFI (usually F10 or Del).
  • Check Advanced → Video/Display settings.
  • Ensure DisplayPort/USB‑C video output is enabled.

Perform a Hardware Reset:

  • Turn off the HP OmniDesk, disconnect the monitors, and unplug the power cables.
  • Wait a few seconds, reconnect the power cables, and turn everything back on.

Take care and have an amazing day!
