OMEN Laptop - 17-cb1004nw
I have a problem that in the omen application I switched to eco mode which reduces the efficiency of the computer but reduces noise etc. and the thing is that at the same time it changes the laptop's hertz from 144 to 60 and more than once when I turned on this mode it switched to 60hz and when I turned on the normal mode again it gave 144hz back and now when I turned on the eco mode and later changed it I was left with this 60hz and I don't know how to change it

@Julek341, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Got it. You're using Eco Mode on your OMEN 17-cb1004nw, and while switching back to a higher performance mode usually resets the refresh rate from 60Hz back to 144Hz, it seems this time you're stuck at 60Hz even after disabling Eco Mode. No worries — this can be manually fixed. Here’s how:

How to Change the Refresh Rate Back to 144Hz:

Option 1: Through Windows Settings

  1. Right-click on the Desktop and choose Display settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Advanced display settings.
  3. Under Choose a refresh rate, click the dropdown and select 144Hz.
  4. Click Apply, and confirm if prompted.

Option 2: NVIDIA Control Panel

  1. Right-click on your Desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. In the sidebar, go to Display > Change resolution.
  3. Select your main laptop display.
  4. On the right side, under Refresh rate, change from 60Hz to 144Hz.
  5. Click Apply, then Yes to confirm.

If 144Hz Is Missing:

If 144Hz doesn’t show up:

  • Make sure you're selecting the laptop’s internal display and not an external monitor.
  • Update your NVIDIA graphics drivers from GeForce Experience or HP Support page.
  • Restart your laptop and disable Eco Mode before login, then try again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
