Hi @LKPL,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your desktop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you've forgotten the PIN for your HP All-in-One Desktop PC and cannot use the Microsoft email account connected to it, here are a few steps you can take to regain access:

Reset PIN Using Microsoft Account

  • Make sure your PC is connected to the internet because you will need to reset your PIN through Microsoft.

Reset PIN via Microsoft Account:

  • Click on the "I forgot my PIN" link on the sign-in screen.
  • Follow the prompts to verify your identity. This may involve receiving a code via your Microsoft account’s connected email or phone number.
  • Once verified, you can set a new PIN.

Use Password Instead of PIN

If you remember your Microsoft account password, you can use that to sign in:

  1. Switch to Password:
    • On the sign-in screen, click on "Sign-in options."
    • Select the key icon to enter your Microsoft account password.

Use Local Account

If your PC has a local user account (not connected to a Microsoft account), you can reset the password using the following steps:

Access Advanced Boot Options:

  • Press and hold the Shift key while selecting Restart from the power options on the sign-in screen. This will restart your computer in the Windows Recovery Environment.

Navigate to Troubleshoot:

  • In the Windows Recovery Environment, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files.

Reset Password:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.

Factory Reset (if necessary)

If none of the above methods work, you may need to perform a factory reset. Note: This will erase all data on the device, so use this as a last resort.

  1. Perform Factory Reset:
    • Access the Windows Recovery Environment by holding the Shift key and selecting Restart from the sign-in screen.
    • Navigate to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Remove everything.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the factory reset.

I hope this helps.
