HP Slim Desktop - S01-pF1025se
Microsoft Windows 11

Downloaded latest BIOS at the suggestion of the HP Support Assistant. Nothing seemed to happen during that session, but next start up, the install started and got to 12%. Then the screen went black, and the PC started to cycle between turning off and turning back on. I turned it off, unplugged the power cord and all other connections. When that failed, I pressed the Windows key and the B key and pressed the power button for 2 seconds. That didn't work, so I created a BIOS recovery drive. Using it failed too. Does anyone have another suggestion short of taking it to the nearest HP repair station? This is a HP Slim desktop S01-pf1025se running WIN 11. Thanks

@jwil1130, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Perform a power drain

  • Disconnect all power sources (unplug the power cord and remove any peripherals such as USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
  • Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to perform a power drain. This can help clear any residual power and might allow the system to reboot properly.

Perform a BIOS recovery

  • Power off the system completely.
  • Press and hold the Windows key + B together, then press the power button to start the PC.
  • Keep holding the keys win+b and let go of the power button until you hear a beep, or you see a bios recovery screen.

Thanks for this, but I tried that, and it failed. The unit is now in the shop where they will try to flash the BIOS memory, then replace the mother board if flashing does not work.
