Fingerprint login set up support

I purchased a HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-ep0000 (730S6AV) and have problems setting up finger print recognition. 

I go into settings, accounts and select finger print recognition, setup.  I'm asked to keep resting and removing my finger on the finger print but nothing happens.   I've tried a few times -what am I not doing, or doing wrong?

The fingerprint reader is an optional purchase on this model.

The little fingerprint reader "Box" on your keyboard might simply be a cover plate where the sensor would be located.

Fingerprint readers, which enable a fingerprint logon, can be located on the touchpad, on a side panel of the computer, or on the top cover below the keyboard.

IMPORTANT: To verify that your computer supports fingerprint reader sign-in, select the Search icon in the taskbar, type Sign-in options in the search box and press enter. If Fingerprint recognition is not listed as an option, your computer does not include a fingerprint reader.
