Hello, I'm not very good at English. Can I text in Vietnamese? After testing with GPU-Z, I discovered that my computer has 750W. This is not feasible with a laptop. I'm wondering if the machine has a power sensor error for the device clock locked at 210mhz. After a few months I decided to give up, I used DDU at first it had no effect at all but after a while the clock increased to 1800mhz and the power was at 6W.Mine is HP Victus 16 RTX30504Gb

@trangiathinh599, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Thank you for visiting our English HP Support Forum. We are only able to reply to posts written in English.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your HP Victus 16 RTX 3050 laptop where the GPU clock speed is locked at 210 MHz, even though your GPU is capable of much higher speeds (up to 1800 MHz). You're also seeing unusual power consumption readings (6W), which is likely related to the low clock speed issue.
The problem you're describing can be caused by several factors, including power management settings, driver issues, or thermal throttling. Here's a list of potential causes and solutions:
Power Management Settings
- Battery Power Mode: Laptops often reduce the performance of the GPU when running on battery power to conserve energy. Check if your laptop is running on battery, as the GPU may be locked to a lower clock speed to save power.
- Windows Power Plan: Ensure that your power settings aren't limiting GPU performance. You can adjust these settings in Windows Power Options:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Select High Performance or Balanced (avoid Power Saver).
- Additionally, you can tweak the Advanced Settings to make sure that the PCI Express Link State Power Management is set to Off.
Thermal Throttling
- Laptops have thermal throttling features that reduce GPU performance when temperatures get too high. You may not be seeing high temperatures immediately, but it's possible that your system is throttling the GPU to avoid overheating.
- Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures. If temperatures are high, you may need to clean the cooling fans, check for dust buildup, or ensure that the thermal paste hasn't degraded.
- Consider using Cooling Pads or using the laptop on a hard surface (not soft bedding or cushions) to improve airflow.

Driver Issues
- Outdated/Corrupted Drivers: It's possible that a corrupted or outdated GPU driver is causing the GPU to be locked at a lower clock speed. You mentioned using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), which is a good first step. After running DDU, ensure that you're installing the latest NVIDIA drivers:
- Visit the NVIDIA Driver Download Page to get the most up-to-date drivers for the RTX 3050.
- Alternatively, you can use GeForce Experience to automatically download and install the latest drivers.
- After installing the drivers, reboot your system and see if the GPU clock speed improves.
Power Delivery and GPU Clocking
- Since you mentioned the 6W power reading, it seems like the system is not providing enough power to the GPU. This could be due to a power sensor issue or a fault in the power delivery system.
- If you’re connected to AC power, make sure your power adapter is functioning properly and providing enough wattage (750W or more for the laptop’s power needs).
- If you're still having trouble, try a BIOS reset to restore default power management settings:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds to reset the system's power.
- Boot the laptop and check if the clock speeds are restored.
System BIOS/UEFI Update
- It's possible that there’s a BIOS update that could address GPU performance issues or power management problems. Check for any available BIOS/UEFI updates for your HP Victus 16 on HP's official website:
- Visit HP’s support page and search for your laptop model (HP Victus 16 RTX 3050).
- Download and install the latest BIOS/firmware update.
- A BIOS update can improve system stability, performance, and power management.
Check NVIDIA Control Panel Settings
- Sometimes, GPU performance settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel can limit the clock speed. To check and adjust:
- Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Manage 3D Settings.
- Under the Global Settings tab, make sure Power Management Mode is set to Prefer Maximum Performance.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
