Hi Shan112

It sounds like your laptop might be booting into GRUB (the GRUB bootloader), which is commonly used in Linux-based systems or dual-boot setups. If you're trying to reboot from a USB and encountering GRUB, here's what you can try:

Steps to Fix This Issue:

  1. Check Boot Order in BIOS/UEFI:

    • Restart your laptop and press the BIOS/UEFI access key (usually F10, F2, Esc, or Delete—depends on your laptop model).

    • Navigate to the "Boot" menu and ensure that the USB is set as the first boot priority.

    • Save the changes and restart the laptop with the USB plugged in.

  2. Ensure USB Drive is Properly Created:

    • If you're using a bootable USB to install an operating system (e.g., Windows or Linux), make sure the USB was created properly using tools like Rufus or the Windows Media Creation Tool.

    • Verify that the USB contains all necessary boot files and wasn't corrupted during creation.

  3. Fix GRUB Bootloader (If It’s Misconfigured):

    • If GRUB is loading because it's misconfigured or leftover from a previous Linux installation, you may need to reset or remove it. Use a bootable Windows repair USB or DVD to access recovery tools:

      • Choose "Repair your computer."

      • Select "Command Prompt."

      • Run these commands to restore the Windows bootloader:

      • Restart your laptop afterward.

      • grub.jpeg

4. Try Disabling Legacy Boot Mode:

  • If your laptop supports UEFI, check in BIOS/UEFI whether "Legacy Mode" or "CSM" is enabled. Switching modes might help resolve bootloader conflicts.

If you're still stuck, feel free to share more details about your setup (e.g., why you're using the USB, what operating systems) so I can assist further!

I hope the above is helpful!
