HP OmniBook Ultra 14 inch Laptop Next Gen AI PC 14-fd0000 (9J387AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello! I bought my HP OmniBook Ultra Laptop 14 less than 5 months ago.

I started using it, and everything seemed fine. I needed a new computer because my previous Lenovo (a pretty old one) started having screen glitches. Now, the same issue is happening with my new HP laptop.

It randomly glitches, turns off and on, and also displays various screen issues while glitching. It’s also become very slow out of nowhere— for example, if I try to type something, it can take up to a minute for the text to appear.

I’ve been trying to get it fixed through HP, but I’m facing issues with them recognizing the warranty.

They had me delete Windows, assuring me it would solve the problem. I lost all my data, but the issues persist.

All drivers are up to date.

Any ideas?

Welcome to HP Support Community, @antog31

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here is a very clean, highly structured, point-wise version — organized logically from hardware to software to system settings:

1. Hardware Checks

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (memory, SSD, GPU, system board).

Look for any hardware failure codes that indicate a physical issue.

2. Temperature & Cooling

Check if the laptop is overheating during normal use.

Ensure vents and fans are clean and unobstructed to maintain proper airflow.

3. System Crash Behavior

Disable Automatic Restart so Windows shows the actual error message instead of instantly rebooting.

4. Graphics Driver Stability

Reinstall the graphics driver using HP Support Assistant or the official HP drivers page.

Remove any previously corrupted GPU driver versions.

5. Software Health

Run a full Windows Security scan to detect and remove unwanted or malicious programs.

Check Task Manager for unnecessary apps causing high CPU or memory usage.

6. Firmware & BIOS

Update the BIOS using HP Support Assistant to ensure the latest stability improvements.

7. Power & Performance Settings

Switch to Balanced or Performance mode to avoid CPU throttling.

Ensure no restrictive power plans or battery saver settings are slowing the system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
