The audio driver is showing up as "unknown device" and I cannot find any downloads at all for the HP Stream 8. Can anyone help me find these so I can reinstall the driver?

SP70337 didn't work for me, still no audio. Luckily I was able to find "Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver - sp69309" among the drivers I originally downloaded when I last reinstalled Windows 8.1, using an official USB installer I got from HP support, following a failed attempt at installing Windows 10 and then Ubuntu. I luckily archive my drivers for situations like this one.

Those tablets originally came from HP with 32 bit operating systems, so you won't find 64 bit drivers.
If you go back and install W8.1 32 bit, below are the info and exe file links to the Intel Chipset, Graphics, Camera and Audio Driver Pack you need for your tablet:
