Hi

I am installing HP Hotkey Support - UWP - 8.10.50.393 Rev.A on a 25H2 HP EliteBook X G1i 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC. When installing as part of a SCCM application all Hotkeys work with the exception of the Mic (F9) button.

Having looked around I see the HP System Event Utility does the same thing as Hotkey Support, but its only available from the Microsoft Store.

Is there a downloadable version so i can package it in SCCM ?

Or is there a know issue with the Hotkeys and the MIC button that can be resolved another way ?

Regards

Hi:

Yes, there is but the HP System Event Utility is the consumer class notebook equivalent of the  HP Hotkey Support - UWP software, and i don't know if it will work the EliteBook X G1i 14 inch Notebook.

This is the latest version I could find from 6 years ago, and it's for W10.

There is no W11 version available.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, with it being Win10 and quite old I feel the possible vulnerabilities would get flagged within the business. I will continue to search for the solution to the MIC not working when installing the Hotkey.

Much appreciated.

Hi @Fraser50

This has happened to me with every HP Hotkey update; I think the problem is that it doesn't install properly and doesn't prompt me to restart the laptop. What I do is go to the driver settings, select “Update Driver,” choose to “Browse my computer for driver software,” select the driver to reinstall it, and then restart the laptop—and that usually solves the problem.

I also recommend checking Windows Update to see if there's an update available—it's not available from HP for any modelo. Is version 8.10.52.464, which is the one I'm currently using.

If you'd like to install it manually, you can download it from the link below, depending on which version of Windows 11 you have

@Resistencia

I have had the same issue as well for a while, Hotkeys are the Bain of my life when it comes to creating build. These drivers will be rolled out across the estate, with is thousands of devices, so I can't reinstall drivers as its unfortunately not feasible, looking at the logs the UWP install creates it stares "Unknown Platform detected" .... yet this is the driver for that device from the HP website.

I have raised a call with HP to see if they can come back with anything.

Thanks for your help

I don't know if HP can offer you a different solution. I've tried updating the hotkeys five times, and all of them failed. I was only able to fix it by using the method described here.

You can check out the following link. HP used to provide this information for business models, but they no longer do so—it's essentially a “surrender” on this issue.
