Dear Community member;

Our HP Laser Printer is working but not printing. Another HP Inkjet Scanner is perfectly working.

Regards.

Hi @camuraad,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

If your HP Laser 103, 107, or 108 printer is on but not printing, it is likely due to a communication error, a stuck print job,

Step 1: Power Reset the Printer

A simple reset can clear temporary electronic glitches that prevent the printer from responding to commands.

  • While the printer is ON, disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
  • Unplug the cord from the wall outlet and wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors for this test) and reconnect it to the printer.

Step 2: Clear the Windows Print Spooler

If the computer thinks it is printing but nothing happens, the "Print Spooler" service might be stuck.

  1. Search for "Services" in your Windows taskbar and open the app.
  2. Find Print Spooler in the list, right-click it, and select Stop.
  3. Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
  4. Delete all files in this folder (these are the stuck print jobs).
  5. Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start

Step 3: Check Hardware & Status Lights

Look at the control panel for any blinking lights, which indicate specific errors:

  • Blinking Orange/Amber Light: This usually signals a paper jam or empty paper tray. Open the top cover, remove the toner cartridge, and check for any stuck paper.
  • Toner Light: If the toner light is on or blinking, the cartridge may be empty or not seated correctly. Try removing and re-inserting the toner.
  • Blinking Wi-Fi Light: The printer has lost its network connection. You may need to reconnect it using the HP Smart app or a USB cable.

Step 4: Verify Default Printer Settings

Ensure your computer is sending the job to the correct device.

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP Laser 103/107/108 and ensure its status is "Ready".
  • If multiple versions exist, remove the old ones and set the active one as Default

For further automated help, you can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix connection errors automatically.

Are there any blinking lights on the printer's control panel, and if so, what color and symbol are they?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,

I'm an HP Employee.
