Hello, I recently purchased the HP230 wireless mouse and keyboard combo. I am using it on my company laptop with has the bluetooth disabled so I am using the USB bluetooth receiver.

However the mouse works fine, no issues, but the keyboard does not repond to anything. Batteries are ok the right hand little light by the F in the padlock light turns on and off.

Is there a way to make the keyboard re-sync with the receiver? or do I have a faulty one?

@Barney45, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP230 wireless keyboard not connecting!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP230 wireless keyboard is not responding while the mouse works fine, it could be an issue with syncing or a potential hardware fault. Here are steps to try and resolve this issue:

Check Battery Installation

Ensure the batteries are correctly installed in the keyboard. Sometimes even a slight misalignment can prevent proper power supply.

Re-Sync the Keyboard

You can try re-syncing the keyboard with the USB receiver:

  1. Turn off the keyboard and remove the USB receiver from the laptop.
  2. Re-insert the USB receiver into a different USB port of your laptop.
  3. Turn on the keyboard and look for a connect button (often found on the underside of the keyboard).
  4. Press the connect button on the keyboard. It might take a few seconds for the keyboard to sync with the receiver. If your keyboard does not have a connect button, turning it on should automatically attempt a re-sync.

Update Driver

Sometimes updating the driver for the receiver can resolve connection issues:

  1. Open Device Manager on your laptop (Press Windows + X and select Device Manager).
  2. Under Bluetooth or Universal Serial Bus controllers, find your wireless USB receiver.
  3. Right-click and select Update driver.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver. You can also use HP Support Assistant to ensure your drivers are up to date.

Check for Interference

Ensure there are no other devices near the laptop that might cause interference (like other Bluetooth devices or wireless signals).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
