Hi @dd1016,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Need help finding your product number? We've got you covered! Check out this handy guide:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2039298-1862169-16

Meanwhile, you can try the following:

Check the restart details.

  1. Press Windows + R, type eventvwr.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Go to Windows Logs > System.
  3. Look for events at the exact time of the unexpected restart, particularly:
    • Kernel-Power (Event ID 41)
    • BugCheck (Event ID 1001)
    • Any WHEA-Logger events
    • Any events immediately before the restart that indicate a driver, hardware, or system failure.
  4. If you see a BugCheck event, please provide the bugcheck code and parameters shown there.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Since the computer is restarting unexpectedly, I also recommend checking the hardware:

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Turn it on and repeatedly press Esc.
  3. Select F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  4. Run the available system tests, or at minimum the relevant Memory Test and Storage Test.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Best regards,

Kuroi_Kenshi
