How can I remove black frame from computer screen?

Hi @AbnerSuki,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. To better assist you, could you please clarify what you mean by the “black frame” on your HP PC screen?

Are you seeing:

  • A black border around the display (image not filling the entire screen)?
  • Black bars on the sides or top/bottom?
  • A physical black bezel around the monitor?
  • Or a dark overlay appearing within Windows?

The reason we ask is that the solution depends on the cause.

If it’s a display scaling or resolution issue, adjusting the screen resolution or graphics settings can usually remove the black borders and make the image fill the screen properly.

If it’s related to graphics driver settings, changing scaling options (Full screen vs. Maintain aspect ratio) may resolve it.

If it’s the physical frame (bezel) of the monitor or laptop screen that cannot be removed, as it is part of the hardware design that protects the display panel.

Please let us know:

  • Your HP PC model
  • Whether this is a desktop with an external monitor or a laptop
  • When the issue started (after an update, new monitor, etc.)

Once we have that information, we’ll guide you with the correct steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
