Hi @yuckii19,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you encounter the "No bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key" error on your HP PC, it typically means that the system cannot find an operating system on your hard drive or bootable device. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Boot Order in BIOS:

  • Restart your HP PC and press the F10 key repeatedly as soon as the computer starts to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
  • Navigate to the "Boot" tab using the arrow keys.
  • Ensure that your hard drive is listed as the first boot option. If not, change the order to prioritize the hard drive.

2. Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables connecting your hard drive to the motherboard and power supply are securely connected.
  • If you're using a laptop, ensure the hard drive or SSD is correctly seated in its slot.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Restart your computer and press F2 repeatedly as it starts.
  • Select "Component Tests" and then choose "Hard Drive."
  • Run the extensive test to check for any hardware issues with your drive.

4. Repair the Boot Sector:

  • Boot from a Windows installation media (USB or DVD).
  • Select "Repair your computer" after choosing the language and keyboard preferences.
  • Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.
  • Run the following commands to repair the boot sector:
  1. bootrec /fixmbr
  2. bootrec /fixboot
  3. bootrec /scanos
  4. bootrec /rebuildbcd

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
