So my fan sounds like it’s going out I had took the back cover off I had a decent amount of dust I cleaned it a lot seemed to fix the sound last night I wake up start my pc and somehow the sound got worse so I retook everything apart and one of the fans when you spin it by hand you can hear this really weird like grinding or some type of sound like it is hitting something im not sure exactly anyways my question is I can just replace that one fan ? Without having to replace the whole heatsink?

According to the parts list the fans are sold as a kit of two.

HP PartSurfer

The heat sink is sold separately.

You're very welcome.

HP does not sell the fan kit you need, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to:

Contact HP's authorized suppliers at the link below and see if they have the fan kit your notebook uses:

The HP Parts Store | HP Computer Parts | HP Printer Parts | HP parts | hp batteries | SSD | printhea...

Do a search on Amazon or eBay by the fan kit part number and see what turns up.
