HP Pavilion AiOPC 27-ca2000i IDS Base Model

I'm a little frustrated because I was set to a Tier 2 support call and I've yet to receive a phone call so I have no idea how to fix my sound issues. The internal speakers on my computer seem to have a hardware detected problem

Hi @Vanamama,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your frustration. You have an HP Pavilion AiO PC 27-ca2000i with internal speakers showing a hardware-detected problem, and you haven’t received the Tier 2 support call yet. Let’s go through steps you can try while waiting for HP support.

1. Check Device Manager for Audio Errors

Press Windows + X → Device Manager.

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Look for your audio device (Realtek or similar).

If there’s a yellow triangle or “!”, right-click → Properties to see the error code.

2. Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and follow prompts.

3. Check Default Playback Device

Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Sound settings.

Ensure the internal speakers are selected as Default Device.

Test audio.

4. Reinstall Audio Driver

In Device Manager, right-click your audio device → Uninstall device → check Delete the driver software.

Restart the PC.

Download the latest driver for your exact model from HP Drivers & Downloads.

Install and reboot.

5. BIOS/UEFI Audio Check

Restart and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS/UEFI.

Under Advanced or Device Options, make sure onboard audio is Enabled.

6. External Test (Optional)

Connect headphones or external speakers to the audio jack.

If these work, the internal speaker hardware may be faulty.

I hope this helps.
