@DorelT, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Resolving I2C HID Driver Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're experiencing issues with the I2C HID device driver in Device Manager, resulting in touchpad or mouse problems, you can resolve these by updating the driver manually. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do this:

Update Windows Drivers through Device Manager

  • Open Device Manager: In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  • Locate the I2C HID Device: Look for the I2C HID device under the Human Interface Devices section. If there's a code 10 error, it should be indicated here.
  • Update Driver: Right-click on the I2C HID device and select "Update driver".
  • Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software: Select this option to let Windows search for the driver online.

Update Windows Drivers through Windows Update

  • Open Windows Update Settings: In Windows, search for and open "Check for updates".
  • Automatic Updates: If there are any available updates, they will begin automatically, possibly including necessary driver updates.
  • Optional Updates: For manual driver updates, select Advanced options, then Optional updates, and download and install any available driver updates.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
