Hi-
I would like to add additional memory(ram) to my omen 40L model gt21-1304. It came with 2 sticks of 8gb(16gb total) kingston fury ddr5 ram with HP product # hp52u40s6ma. There are 2 additional ram slots so I wanted to add 2 stick of 8gb ram that is compatible with the factory ram, bringing the total to 32gb.
According to kingston customer support, the compatible ram to hp52u40s6ma is KF552C40BBAK2 so I ordered the 16gb kit(2 sticks of 😎 and attempted to install them in the empty slots. When doing so, I either get a blue screen and it continues to attempt to reboot without any success, or I get a black screen. Following the guides to allow the computer to train the memory, I've left it on the black screen for 15-20 minutes without anything happening, then power cycled and let it stay on the black screen for an additional 10 minutes. Still nothing happens and my only option is to manually power off the pc. Additionally, I've tried removing the factory ram and only installing the new KF552 ram and the system will still not boot.
A few questions...
Is the KF552 ram I ordered indeed the correct ram that should be compatible with this system? If so, any suggestions on what else I can do to get them to work?
If it's not compatible then what is the correct ram I need to order to work with my system?
Or lastly, is it impossible to add any ram that will be compatible with hp52u40s6ma and the only option is to remove it and add 2 sticks of 16gb to achieve 32gb total? If this is the only option, what are the correct part #s I should order?
Thanks!
