Hello,

It seems you're experiencing an issue where certain function keys and key combinations on your keyboard are not working as expected and are triggering the Notification Center instead. Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:

  1. Check the Function Lock (Fn Lock) Key:

    • Some keyboards have an Fn Lock key, often represented by a lock icon. This key can change the behavior of the function keys. Try pressing the Fn key along with the Fn Lock key to toggle its status.
  2. Keyboard Layout Settings:

    • Ensure that your keyboard layout settings match the layout of your physical keyboard. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language and verify the keyboard input language and layout.
  3. Driver Update:

    • Update your keyboard driver:
      • Go to Device Manager (you can search for it using the Start menu).
      • Locate "Keyboards," right-click your keyboard, and select "Update driver."
      • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  4. BIOS/UEFI Settings:

    • Sometimes, the function key behavior can be changed in the BIOS settings. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing Esc, Del, or F2 during startup) and look for keyboard or function key settings.
  5. Check for Stuck Keys:

    • Ensure no keys are physically stuck down. Gently press each key to ensure it moves freely.
  6. Reset Keyboard Settings:

    • You can try resetting keyboard settings if you have customized them recently. This can often be done through your keyboard software or through system settings, depending on your setup.
  7. Check for Third-Party Software:

    • If you have any third-party software installed that modifies keyboard behavior (such as key remapping software), check its settings or try disabling it to see if the issue resolves.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to HP support for personalized assistance, especially if this is a function on an HP laptop or keyboard.
