Hi @abcgl77, Welcome to HP Support Community. 👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Ah, the elusive backslash! It seems your keyboard is playing hide-and-seek 👀 with this essential character. Fear not, we'll coax it out of its hiding place.

Please follow these steps:

Check Keyboard Layout: Ensure that your keyboard layout is set to Swiss in your Windows settings. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region and make sure the correct layout is selected.

Update Keyboard Drivers: Sometimes, updating the keyboard drivers can fix the issue. You can do this by:

  • Right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
  • Expanding the Keyboards section, right-clicking on your keyboard, and selecting Update driver.
  • Following the prompts to search for and install any available updates.

Uninstall and Reinstall Keyboard Driver: If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the keyboard driver and then restarting your laptop. This will force Windows to reinstall the driver.

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your keyboard and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Use On-Screen Keyboard: As a temporary workaround, you can use the on-screen keyboard to type the backslash. You can enable it by going to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and turning on the On-Screen Keyboard.

Check for Physical Issues: Ensure that there is no physical damage or debris under the key. Sometimes, a gentle cleaning can help.

I hope this helps. 🙂

Take care and have a good day. 😇
